Modern minimalism: one artist's journey

Updated: Apr 13, 2019

It has been a very busy time for me, as I have been unable to create pieces that I've been putting off for months. As I checked off my 'to-do' list of art piece completions, I felt very fortunate to have had many opportunities to work for different people and create numerous designs for them.

Last year, I had the opportunity to display some of my adoption related art pieces publicly for the first time in April 2018. It was a very surreal moment for me, as I've wanted to exhibit my artwork for a long time. Those brief moments motivated me to keep on creating my adoptee inspired art pieces because people DO notice! People have come to me and tell me that they recognized my work previously on FB or by word-of-mouth. As an artist, I must be doing something right? Over time, different people have reached out to me to create adoptee inspired art pieces for them and it has been a humbling experience to be able to work for them because of their insight of me as the artist. I have been able to work on logo designs, tattoo designs, and other projects for other people, which I am thankful for cultivating those friendships with my friends and clients. I am very appreciative of all the support that I have from others in the art community, friends, and family.

I'm still uncertain where my art journey will go, but I am confident that I will make my mark as an adoptee-based artist and creator! I want to give back to the adoptee community through art and spread awareness to anyone who is willing to lend their ears to our voices.
